Kevin Park cuts the lacquers. He’s been doing it since 1999. Kevin is a seasoned audio professional with a lifelong passion for music and recording. He first caught the cutting bug through his involvement in the electronic music scene at the height of the vinyl DJing era and over many years of ups and downs and changes in the industry, has never lost his enthusiasm for the challenges and rewards of working in this medium.
Outside of the cutting studio, Kevin has enjoyed a wide ranging audio career; having toured the world as a FOH mix engineer, instructed classes and developed curiculum at technical colleges, and mixed for broadcast from time to time, the diverse skill set and background that he brings to the vinyl mastering setting are unique and valuable.
From the humble beginnings of scrappy upstart Scratch Free Press in the early 2000s, through supporting the vinyl resurgence of the 2010’s as part of Canada’s longest running mastering studio, Lacquer Channel, and now, operating independently as KPVM, Kevin continues to hone his skills and build his reputation. Kevin’s dedication to his craft and his profound appreciation for the tangible experience of vinyl records have made him an integral part of the Canadian music community and manufacturing industry.
